Making medical innovation accessible to all
Healthcare is at a pivotal juncture. As new technologies emerge and practitioners have the option to perform innovative medical interventions allowing greater accuracy and efficiency, the medical community continues to pursue ways to make all of it available to patients. At Kinova, we envision a world in which we can help lead the charge to offer greater access to healthcare and improved patient experiences through medical robotics and technology.
In order to make this a reality, we want to work with subject matter experts, key opinion leaders and others within the medical community up front. This will allow us to collectively predict and fill technological and market gaps for the future of medical intervention, accelerating the usage of robotics and other device technology in medical interventions through innovation, and, ultimately, influencing both the adoption and accessibility of such technologies
Where innovation meets excellence
Nearly five years ago, Kinova launched its Medical Division out of a partnership with a US-based medical device manufacturer to adapt our robotic arm technology to better serve the needs of practitioners, researchers and others. As we move towards the future, we intend to expand our work within the medical community to foster innovation; accelerate the adoption and accessibility of technology; and provide a medium for training, education and clinical research.
Our Centres of Excellence mission will allow us to contribute to the development of new methodologies and trajectories in first- and second-line care within innovative healthcare systems and research environments focused on the use, optimization and development of technologies for both prevention and intervention. We’ve already begun forming numerous healthcare institute partnerships (Montreal’s MUHC Hospital, CHUM Hospital, TransMedTech Institute and Sainte-Justine Hospital, as well as the IUCPQ Hospital in Quebec City) and we’re determined to pursue more.
Developing tomorrow’s medical devices today
Kinova’s broad range of medical technology and robotics expertise lays the groundwork for us to collaborate and innovate in healthcare with your institution. Clinicians are implicated as early as possible in our iterative product development process, as we test, build and refine each device, and ensure we live up to our “do it right the first time” philosophy. Our in-house, cross-functional expertise, combined with our use of systems engineering methodology, means you can bank on devices of the highest calibre across their entire lifespan.
