President and CEO
Charles has made it his life’s work to empower individuals through robotics. It all started when Charles got the “invention bug” at an early age to assist and encourage three of his uncles living with muscular dystrophy. While completing his studies at Montreal’s École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), Charles developed a clear vision and mission for Kinova, which he co-founded in 2006.
His achievements quickly earned him the reputation as a trailblazer in the modern robotics revolution, including a 2014 Ernest C. Manning Innovation Award, as well as a 2016 Governor General Innovation Award. He is Chair of the Advanced Manufacturing Table (a federal initiative), is a member of the Business Council of Canada (Next Generation Business Leaders), and an industrial member of the ÉTS study commission. Since 2016, he has also actively participated in the Governor General Innovation Awards as a jury member.
Charles is equally dedicated to robotics democratization on a global scale as well as seeding top talent through robotics internships & Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities.
