Sales director, assistive, research, and academic

The sales director, assistive, research, and academic will accelerate the growth of Kinova’s revenue through the definition and the execution of the go-to-market strategy and business objectives of the assistive, academic, and research market globally.


Main responsibilities

  • Accurately forecasts weekly, annually, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue projections;
  • Develops specific plans to ensure revenue growth in assistive/research products;
  • Provides quarterly results assessments of the field staff’s productivity;
  • Assists in the sales of strategic accounts when assigned;
  • Educates field staff in sales techniques and tactics and provide necessary resources for the team;
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of sales representative and recommends necessary changes;
  • Enhancement of field sales revenues and balance priorities for the sales team;
  • Develops pro-active competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns;
  • Maintains expertise on company’s products/services to effectively manage sales activities and engage with customers;
  • Pursues a program of self-development through the use of selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education;
  • Lead all sales efforts by developing accounts, partnerships, channels, and the team necessary to achieve the go-to-market strategy;
  • Complete market research and analyze results to adjust sales and marketing strategy for maximum success;
  • Collaborate closely with the medical/assistive program;
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of the assistive and research marketing plan;
  • Be responsible for developing and monitoring the budget;
  • Establish performance indicators and measure results;
  • Motivating teams and coach individuals in order to be oriented towards performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.


  • University education in mechanical or electrical engineering or another relevant field;
  • Minimum five years’ experience in leading a sales team;
  • Previous experience in a senior sales role with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed targets;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key clients, including negotiating and closing on major contracts;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present strategy and results to staff members at every level of the organization;
  • Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective clients;
  • Demonstrated skill in negotiating and closing on critical sales contracts;
  • Excellent interpersonal (teamwork), leadership, autonomy, and communication skills;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Proficiency in Office Suite and Google software;
  • Oral and written communication skills;
  • Bilingualism (French/English);
  • The ability to travel is required for this position (approximately 20-30% of the time).


  • Sales experience in the high-tech and/or robotics field
