ICRA: Kinova Robotics Announces New Features

News & Events

SINGAPORE – Kinova Robotics will be part of the International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), which will be held from May 29th to June 3rd at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore. An amazing opportunity to discover our newest innovation, JACO2 with 7 degrees of freedom (DOF) and spherical movement.

This is Kinova Robotics 6th consecutive ICRA participation. To use a hockey analogy, Kinova is no longer a rookie.

“Our unknown products raised attention the first year back in 2012, it was a remarkable success. Today our goal is to present our new products to our customers and regular booth visitors, as well as to be seen for the first time by newcomers to the conference. This year, we are introducing our new 7 Degrees of Freedom (7DOF) robotic arm, which will surely please our current and potential customers. ICRA is the perfect place to discover this new product”, explains François Boucher, Executive VP at Kinova Robotics.

If you come to Singapore without a great interest for robotics and automation, you may find ICRA a little dry.

“This is for people who are involved in robotics and research. So, you’ll find professors and graduate students who have submitted papers or are going there to see what is being done in robotics. A few years ago, it was a robotics conference but it has grown to such an extent that it has become an event in itself”, said Boucher.

Building relationships

Participating in such an event is very important for a company like Kinova Robotics. ICRA helps identify potential clients and reinforces existing company partnerships at both the academic and the industrial levels. This is also a perfect venue for competitive watch.

Some newness this year, Kinova will be speaking in the ICRA Industrial Forum. We will share our vision of the 4.0 industry outside of smart factories. In other words, Kinova will presents its position on robotics in relation to humans.

“This is a first for us, we are looking forward to the reactions”, concludes Boucher.
